Expressive Therapies, Minor

The minor provides a useful complement for students who are interested in the role of art in wellness, counseling, communities development, and expression. Students consider the role of the arts as a tool to foster resiliency and to facilitate change on the individual, community, and societal level. This minor includes a blend of studio-based courses, counseling and mental health courses, and emphasizes applied and experiential approaches to learning. This integrated and interdisciplinary minor allows students to focus on media of their choice, while considering their therapeutic application. 

The minor in expressive therapies is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in many diverse areas of social change or for those pursuing graduate programs in the arts, social work, psychology,  health, counseling, or rehabilitation.
