Social Sciences, AA (New York)

The Associate of Arts degree in social sciences is designed for students passionate about understanding the complex relationships between government, society, and individual rights. This interdisciplinary program introduces students to foundational concepts in political science, sociology, and ethics, with a special emphasis on human rights.

Students explore how political systems shape societies, how public policies impact human rights, and how social movements influence political change. Through a mix of theoretical and practical courses, students have an opportunity to develop critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

Students study the intersections of political theory, governance, civil rights, and social change. The curriculum includes courses in political science, sociology, ethics, and history, allowing students to examine how power, inequality, and advocacy impact human rights at local, national, and global levels.

This program will only be offered as part of the Bedford Hills College Program and the Taconic College Program.
